This Friday and Saturday Herk-de-Stad (Limburg – Belgium) is expecting the best of the international alternative music scene for the 30th edition of the festival Rock Herk. Top acts like Dinosaur Jr, Felix Da Housecat, The Raveonettes, Tocadisco and our own Belgian stars The Subs and Black Box Revelation will make their shiny appearances. The weather forecast is rather unstable though.
Therefore extra measures are being taken to guarantee each visitor a dry spot at the festival. In the middle of the festival site a span is installed as a shelter tent. In front of the bars extra tents are put to make sure that everyone can have a drink in the best possible circumstances. In total the organization provides for an extra 1000m² shelter so the partying is guaranteed in all weather conditions. There is no more excuse for not coming to the Festival.
Even in earlier times the organization of Rock Herk tried to counter bad weather conditions by installing big spans at both the stages. The one at the Main Stage was already enlarged in 2011. The span at the second stage, the Vice Club, is doubled in 2012.
The security measures had already been increased before. On the festival site itself a weather specialist will be permanently following and interpreting the weather forecast. Together with the police and the fire department an extensive emergency and intervention plan (BNIP) has been set up.
Tickets are still online available and in all the Free Record Shops or other advance booking offices. The advance booking of the combi tickets and the day tickets for Friday will end at midnight on Thursday 12th July. The advance booking of the day tickets of Saturday will end at midnight on Friday 13th July. There will still be tickets available at the entrance, though they will be 25% more expensive.
The festival Rock Herk takes place on 13 & 14 July 2012 at park Olmenhof, 3540 Herk-de-Stad (Belgium).
